Our approach

How a mandate actually runs, from the first conversation through to execution.

People working together in front of a planning board
  1. 1. Understand

A first conversation, with no obligation. We work out the real objective, the means available and what has blocked progress so far. A good number of projects clarify themselves at this stage.

  2. 2. Frame

We set out a written commercial read: what looks viable, what does not in its current form, and the options worth considering. That read may well conclude that the project should not go ahead.

  3. 3. Structure

Choice of structure, market, timeline and professionals involved. Every decision is tied back to the objective it serves, so it stays open to revision if the objective changes.

  4. 4. Execute

Implementation: negotiations, introductions, procurement, documentation. We coordinate the parties involved and report on progress.

  5. 5. Follow through

A transaction does not end at signature. Delivery, documentary compliance and collection are part of the mandate.

Saying no is part of the work

Accepting a mandate that cannot succeed serves no one. Where a transaction looks commercially hopeless, we say so before starting — even at the cost of the mandate.

Each professional in their own field

Accountants, lawyers, corporate service providers: we work with them, never in their place. The client always knows who does what, and who answers for it.

An opportunity can be explained

If the commercial mechanics of a deal cannot be set out simply — where the margin comes from, who carries which risk, what can go wrong — then it is not ready to be presented.
